Osram Nightbreaker

I was thinking of doing some night driving to Singapore this weekend. Then started doing some searching online learning more about car lights and the new technologies.

Came across Osram NightBreaker, supposed to be 90% brighter than normal bulbs. So I called up and ordered it today and got it fitted immediately.

What's nice is that no relay is needed, no need to upgrade the cables, it's yellow not white light, so it's approved for road use and I don't have to buy extra spot lights.

To all the inconsiderate Malaysian drivers still using HID white lights that blind others, please change your illegal lights before you kill some innocent road users.

Retail price of this Osram NightBreaker, made in Germany and imported by Robert Bosch is RM183. I can get a special price of RM147 for any size H1, H3, H4 or H7, inclusive of 1 day delivery within Malaysia.

Low backside and too bouncy

After driving a few days with the NGV tank in my boot, I realised the permanent weight of the tank was seriously affecting the ride height and drive comfort.

With 2 people in the back seat, the exhaust was scrapping the road humps and every hump made the car bounce 3 times.

So back to more research reading the posts in the NGV forums, talking to my mechanic Onn another mechanic at Taman OUG,  and my spare parts dealers Thomas and Ng.

I finally decided to change the Wira Heavy Duty Felix springs, with Waja KYB gas absorbers and 1.5 inches spring bushes. Total costs was RM226 at Ng's and RM326 at Thomas. It's the last time I will ever visit Thomas' spare parts shop for sure!.

Absorber_kyb_gas_waja

Wira_hd_felix_spring

On Thursday, went to get these fixed with Onn around 10am. While his worker was doing the job alone, we went for breakfast. What surprised me was that when we returned, the job was all completed. Cost RM70

The ride now is a bit hard but it's better than soft and this setup should last me at least a few years. I could have used the APM Heavy Duty springs, but those were softer and I doubted my absorbers could last a year, using those springs.

I then spent my Thursday past, writing all my experiences into an e-book specially for Proton Wira owners who want to have an easy NGV conversion, and to save time, money and frustration.

I'm now selling this ebook titled "Guide to NGV installation for Proton Wira" in Lelong for just RM7 and you can view it here - http://members.lelong.com.my/Auc/List/List.asp?DataAction=Apply&UserID=kingkraal

NGV successfully installed

I got a call on 12th from Alan to bring in my car for the NGV installation, within the next 30 mins, or else shift my installation date to 23rd August.

I had just reached home from lunch with some friends at Sushi King, KLCC. Actually I wanted to go to PJ after lunch, to attend a preview by Ewen Chia, but decided last minute to return back to KL. Was it luck that I decided to go home after lunch?

The installation finished on 13th at 10pm and I picked up the car after they had finished washing it up. Quite good 31 hours door to door service.

I fitted a Tomasetto Achille mixer fuel injection system with a semi fibre 55L Type 2 tank. Don't be confused, as pricing depends on the 3 things

1) hardware - brand, carburator or EFI, mixer or sequential, metal or semi fibre tank, tank size

2) software - how professional are the installers and the backup service and trouble shooting phone and on-site support.

3) payment by cash, card, installment plan

My experience so far is just 2 things:-

1) costs me RM6.05 to fill up my tank and can get about 90km or about 7 sen per km, compared to 27sen per km with petrol.

2) after day 2, the car started jerking when using ngv and I went this morning to change my plugs to the NGK Platinum plugs.

3) be careful with engine wash, as the fill up valve, regulator and ECU should be kept dry.

4) still need to go for JPJ and Puspakom inspection later.

Now everything is running smoothly and I am proud to be doing my part to green the earth. What about you?.

If you are planning to install NGV for your vehicle, do tell me and I will get a good price (and most important is service) for you from my friend Alan, and share with you more resources on NGV and credit card Easy Payment Plans.

The Big Deal with today 8th August 2008

So what's the big deal with today 8th August 2008?. Unless it's your birthday, maybe it will have some significance.

I did call up to wish 2 friends today, Caroline and Karin. For Caroline, it was just another day at work, and later shopping for some new furniture for her new apartment at Subang.

But for Karin, she had taken the day off and later tonight, will be celebrating her birthday at a club. Oh yes, I was invited to be there too, so I guess I will miss the Olympic Opening Ceremony at 8 mins past 8pm.

Oh well, more celebrations in store i guess for 9th september 2009,  then 10th october 2010, 11th november 2011 and  finally 12th december 2012.

If it's going to be your birthday on those dates, book me now so we can do something exciting for your special day.

Dying for what?

First I was dying to finish my high school and start college.

Then I was dying to finish college and start working.

Then I was dying to marry, shift to my own home and have kids.

Then I was dying for my kids to grow up fast, so they could earn their own money.

While working my butt off, I was dying to retire, so I could do what i really want to do.

And soon I'll be dying, and suddenly I realised that I forgot to live.

Don't live as if you are never going to die and when you die, will you be rememebered as someone who truly made a positive influence and lived a good life?

Food and Sex common elements

To truly enjoy food as in good sex, you have to use all your 5 senses. So let me share with you my thoughts.

Sight - Does it look appetising and interesting enough to eat?

Smell - Does it smell nice delicious?

Sound - The taste and appetite depends on the sounds you hear during the preparation and while eating. Baby cries and rock music will not help. That's why most people enjoy a sizzling dish.

Touch - some cultures eat using their fingers as the taste is enhanced by feeling the food before you eat it. You cannot enjoy durians with a fork and spoon.

Taste - the ultimate enjoyment is when you can explode all your taste buds with sweetness, sourness, bitterness and saltiness.

Some say that those who enjoy good sex, are generally thinner, as they burn off extra calories, have less time for eating solid food and have fulfilled their 5 senses. And those that don't get enough of it, will usually substitute it with food.

So whatever you choose, just enjoy using your 5 senses. Happy eating!

Why did I get a bicycle

Some people were quite surprised when I said i had just bought a bicycle. No, it's not one with the shopping basket or to go packing food with. Sorry to disappoint.

The kids (oops now teens), have outgrown their little bicycle and it was time to get an adult 5 speed racing bike with chunky tyres that look like they were from a 4 wheel drive monster truck.

So maybe I can get some exercise with the bike?. Let's see. If you see a bright green bike speeding by, just give me way, or a pack of teh tarik could be splashing on your windscreen, ok?.

Hydro Fuel launching in Malaysia

Spend 4 hours for a complete installation, put a 5 litre water tank in your booth, some electical gadgets in your engine compartment to do some electrolysis to extract the hydrogen from water, pump this hydrogen into your air intake, pay RM1,300 for a carburettor engine or RM2,300 for a fuel injection engine (ohhh you get a free Smart Fuel Saver device) below 2,000cc and get 50% more mileage from your litre of petrol/diesel.

Don't be mistaken with hydrogen powered cars Japan, Germany and USA are moving towards. This is hydrofuel - meaning using hydro (water) as fuel.

Don't get too excited too fast. The system is not approved by Pusapakom and the JPJ yet, tentatively Sept 2008 only. It's only on trial with 100 taxis.

But according to this Dr Halim,  he is ready to install 300,000 units from August onwards.

Malaysia Boleh - yes it's true our cars will not run on water, but with this HFI system, will use water to extend mileage by 50% thus cutting your fuel bill by half.

What distance 5 litres of water will last you, is not known at the moment. There may be an upgrade option to install a swimming pool in your booth, so you can drive non stop from kl to pj.

Or maybe an optional water disposal device from the driver and passenger seat, to send your waste water directly into this water tank. Wow. That's recycling at it's best!.

Remember the slogan -  " Put a tiger in our tank " . Now its "Wee Wee urine takes you 50% further"

Using NGV CNG in Malaysia

It's not that I spend so much on petrol, just about RM330 monthly, so some friends ask me why I wanted to install an NGV / CNG system for my car. The investment will pay for itself within 17 months at the present petrol/gas price differential.

In Malaysia, it's called Natural Gas for Vehicles (NGV) and elsewhere it's referred to as Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)

It's about greening the earth and reducing the carbon emissions and setting an example for my future generations. What have you done?.

I finally decided today to go install at CityNGV in Setapak for 4 reasons - 1. I met Jessie the owner's wife and she explained clearly to me the different options. 2. CityNGV pricing at RM4,200 was cheapest among the other 2 installers 3. They offered Credit Card payments at the same pricing as cash and also offered 0% Easy Payment Plans. 4. CityNGV is about 2km from my home, so it's easy for servicing.

I first confirmed the best TA mixer from Argentina & a 77L semi fibre tank for RM4,750, but after measurements, found the tank took up the whole boot space and covered the spare tyre.

So I changed to a 55L semi fibre tank, which could fit directly to the back of the boot, just behind the rear seats,  leaving me lots of space. I paid a RM300 cash deposit, and my scheduled installation date is August 12.

Meantime, my nearest Petronas station in Melawati, about 2km from my home will start selling NGV from this friday, so I guess the universe is making it easy for me.

Will update you more with some photos after the installation.

Credit Card Easy Payment Plans

I recently went shopping for a washing machine and as always, searched online first to find the models to consider.
.
Mr Chai my washing machine repair man advised to get a 5kg front loader as it will be more energy efficient, saving both water and electricity and requiring less maintenance.
.
I narrowed down the units to a Samsung, Elba, LG, Whirlpool, Electrolux and Bosch after visiting HSL, ESH and TBM websites.
.
Coincidentely there was a wharehouse sale at Subang last weekend and I popped in to check it out. The machines at warehouse sales are usually dented and only have a 3 month warranty. It's only worth it if you want to get units that are priced above RM5,000, as the sale price is a few thousand below retail.
.
The units I was looking for was between RM1,400 to RM1,800, and with a RM120 delivery charge, 3 month warranty and a RM500 sale
discount, did not justify purchasing my machine there.
.
Now to the Credit Card Easy Payment Plan charges:-.
.
HSL charged RM20 for 1 year, RM40 for 2 years & RM60 for 3 years.
ESH chaged RM25 for 1 year and RM65 for 2 years.
.
I settled finally for a made in Germany, Bosch 5.5 kg washer with a 2 year guarantee . ESH price was RM1,800 for 24 months with EON / RHB and TBM RM1,700 for an 18 month EPP with UOB.
.
This is the first time I bought from TBM and came away impressed with their low pricing and service.Delivery was fast and I'm happy with the deal. Tan Boon Ming is located at Bangsar Village 1. www.tbm.com.my

Electricity rates up 18% effective 1st July

How will most people cope with the 40% petrol price increase in June, and now the 18% electricity tariff increase this month?.

Star Metro on 30th June had a nice article titled Double Work and talked about some people who are earning money teaching a hobby, doing a laundry service from home and being a night receptionist in a restaurant. But the one I really liked was the this guy who is a tax consultant an insurance agent and a clown. Pay 1 get 3,

I installed an electricity saver about 2 years ago when my bill was RM220 and today I average about RM170. With the new electricity tariff effective this month, my bill will increase to RM200.

If you would like to save some 20% off your electricity bill, then check out this electricity saver - http://www.kingkraal.com/energysaver.html This site only accepts credit card payments and billed as US$75.

If you want to pay through maybank, cimb or PBB using ringgit, then it costs just RM 277 with a 60 day guarantee, it could pay for itself within 3-6 months!.Visit my eBay to get a unit today for your home or office.

Shall I convert to NGV / CNG or remain on petrol

The sky rocketting petrol prices has sparked off a hot topic - Conversion to a cleaner and cheaper fuel - NGV or sometimes referred to as CNG.

NGV stands for Natural Gas for Vehicles whereas CNG is compressed Natural Gas. Both terms can be used interchangeably.

So I did a quick calculation of my petrol spending for the last few months and average just RM240 monthly (125litres). Yeah, I don't drive that much, just sending and picking up kids from school.

If I do convert to NGV, I could save the price difference between petrol now at RM2.70 and NGV priced at RM 0.68. Making my savings just RM250 monthly or just RM3,000 yearly.

NGV conversions cost between RM3,500 to RM5,500 and with some banks 24-36 months easy payment plans, I could easily pay the installation costs, with the RM250 savings I get monthly.

So will I do it, well I will go check it out today, as the NGV conversion centre is just 2 km from my home.

Everyone needs to do something about the environment and I guess this is my contribution to green the earth and use a cleaner burning fuel.

Will keep you updated soon.

Good, Cheap, Fast

Good_cheap_fast_service

I liked this so much, so I want to share this with you.

Unfortunately, everyone is looking for good, cheap and fast. But you only can select 2 out of 3.

I guess with everything I do online and offline, I fall into the good and fast, but never cheap. Which brings me back to one of Gucci’s famous quotes: -

“Quality is remembered, long after price is forgotten”

It’s nice to be treated well and honestly, and most people will not mind, paying a bit more, to enjoy the quality service they get from you.

It’s always easier to explain once, why you cost a little more, rather than make excuses why your product or service, failed to meet your customers expectations.

Good products and service, costs money and most people, do not mind paying a bit more, for peace of mind, rather than finding a cheap bargain that will ultimately cost more in the long run.

And that is why, people continue to buy from me!

If I could extend my dad's life

June 15th will be Fathers Day and also my late Dad's birthday!. To all fathers out there, a very Happy Father's Day!. I do hope you are proud of your kids as they are proud of calling you dad.

Almost 9 years has past since my dad died. I do have fond memories of my dad, and regret not spending enough time with him, when I really should have.

If you do have your dad (and mom) still around, it's never too late to show your love and appreciation, as it's no use regretting later when they are gone.

So what will you get Dad this year, another shirt, cologne, watch, dinner or holiday? Or will you get him some health products to add years to his life and life to his years. It's worth it and at least you will not have regrets like me.

Some of my popular Father's Day presents selling well this year are

a) Bioslife - for cholesterol, diabetes, blood pressure

b) CM Plex - for arthritis and joint pains

c) Enjuvenate - anti aging and energy and

d) Hawaiian Noni - general health

Happy Father's Day to me!.

A Major purchase decision

Full_tank

My friend Mun Leng just told me her Kelisa full tank used to be RM60 but yesterday, it cost her RM90 to fill up after the 40% increase!.

I wonder if the credit card companies will give a 24 month installment plan, when a full tank costs RM500.....hahahahaha!.

I wrote a blog about the 2 choices everyone has - either to spend wisely or to wise up and start to earn some extra money in a passive business.

Enjoy the weekend and happy reading.

Malaysia's Petrol price increases 40% on June 5, 2008

Tomorrow will be a sad day for many people. Petrol goes up 78 sen to RM2.70 - a 40% increase and Diesel goes up 100sen - a 60% increase!.

Public transportation will grind to a halt, as their fare increases have yet to be approved, and there will be chaos.

And 1st July, electricity prices go up 17%. Double whammy, but with some grace period, so everyone has a chance to die slowly or take action from today!

So near to Euro 2008, I guess those not interested in football will have something else to talk about.

2 options are open to everyone. Change your lifestyle, get a NGV kit, downsize to a smaller car, motorbike or bicycle, buy a fuel saver and electricity saver to save more? Or just go increase your earnings by at least RM500 - RM1,000 and earn more?. Earning more is of course much more fun!.

But you know people are so stubborn and wil give me 101 excuses why they cant sell, promote or do any word of mouth advertising. I can only help those who are willing to change with the times and adapt to the real world today!.

I've just helped a friend get started and in 4 days, she's already earned over RM 500 and by end of June, she is targetting to earn close to RM2,000.

Its 10.30pm and the 2 petrol stations in front of my house are filled to the brim!. Trying to save RM20-30 for just a tankful and wasting 2 hours getting stuck in the jam and polluting the environment.

Gee is their time cost RM10 per hour so cheap?. I'd rather spend my 2 hours doing something more productive and creative, so I can earn more online/offline.

Such is difference between the millionaire minds and the broke minds.
